My chosen “personified force” is based on the idea that as humanity evolves, the way we use materials change, altering our overall appearance. This force acts as an alternative muse and source of inspiration to my project. More specifically, my project seeks to explore the idea that everything we as humans have created will eventually disintegrate and return to the earth in one way or another– the natural order of things is that everything tends towards chaos, and that physical things change and decay over time. I am excited by ideas often illustrated in the cyberpunk and dystopia genres that relate to what will become of humanity. These tales are usually quite cynical and sometimes have a depressing or hopeless take on our future. While it is possible that those stories and their predictions may not be far-fetched, with my project, I wish to communicate that even through decay, chaos, and dissolution, there can be beauty and life. Though things may change, there is a way to embrace it and to have hope.

Drapings made with discarded and scrap materials. These are mainly for concepting purposes, but also stand on their own as sculptures in a way.
